Broadbeach has spent the weekend turned over to country music, with the Groundwater Country Music Festival running from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October. The festival is free and spreads across the streets, parks, bars and restaurants of Broadbeach.
Kasey Chambers, The Wolfe Brothers, Kaylee Bell, Beccy Cole, James Blundell and Kingswood headline a program that also includes line dancing on the Beach Deck, roving sets by The Borough at The Oasis Shopping Centre and a Bluegrass Breakfast at The Loose Moose.
Gold Coast music venues are a big part of the festival footprint, including Den Devine, Pig ‘N’ Whistle, The Beach Hotel Broadbeach and The Broadbeach Tavern, all hosting music across the weekend. Den Devine took out Accessible and Inclusive Venue of the Year at this year’s Queensland Music Awards.
It is the last day today, so there is still time to head down and catch a set.
