GOOD AS GOLD: A celebration of the Gold Coast Music Scene and a future that’s looking as good as gold!

Thirteen years ago Chloe, Sam & Amanda had this crazy idea to start a music magazine, in print, when print was apparently dying. No publishing experience, no music industry background, no idea what we had gotten ourselves into. 

Blank Street Press thrived for more than a decade, the local music scene quickly got on board and next thing they launched the Gold Coast Music Awards, shining a spotlight on thousands of talented musicians. Thirteen years and many gigs and good times later, Chloe Sam and Amanda are handing over the reins to the new not-for-profit crew, to continue the good work of building a thriving and resilient local music scene, and we reckon it’s in good hands. 

On Saturday 28 November join us all from 5:30pm at Miami Marketta for a big kick-ass party and passing of the mic to Gold Coast Music Alliance. Enjoy live local music, auction of memorabilia and band merch to raise funds for the new Alliance and some guaranteed good times.

GOOD AS GOLD will be a celebration of Gold Coast music, the people who make it happen and the legacy everyone has built together, because this was never just about a magazine, an awards night or one organisation. It’s always been about the people, the music and building a thriving and resilient local scene.

So, whether you’ve been part of the journey since the early days or you’re discovering the scene for the first time, come celebrate – this party is for everyone.
